Tole-rants is a global movement to inspire hope about solving social problems. Macmillan Dictionary describes a tole-rant as 'a brief speech about a social problem that suggests a potential solution, usually taking the form of a very short, web-based video.'
Rather than ranting about everything that is wrong in the world, tole-ranters speak from the heart about social problems, and point to potential solutions - in 60 seconds. The dawn of hope-filled, heartfelt communications is here. It's time to tole-rant.
A communications agency like no other - flag bearers for media ethics and pioneers in sparking coverage for inspiring social stories - global tolerance launched tole-rants on 16th November 2009, the United Nations International Day of Tolerance (or Tole-rants!) global tolerance has worked on heartfelt communications campaigns with HH Dalai Lama, Rajmohan Gandhi, HRH The Prince of Wales, and many of the best known social activists and NGOs around the world. global tolerance was inspired to launch tole-rants after being hired by TED to use our networks and communications expertise to help turn Karen Armstrong's Charter for Compassion into a reality. Now we want to give a tole-ranter a similar chance to have their idea shine in the real world, and at the same time provide a free global platform for social solutions. There are many social problems on our planet: climate change, poverty, access to clean water, terrorism, to name a few. But there is hope. Many of us are lucky to live in a web 2.0 world, a world of citizen journalism, a world where a single person equipped with a powerful idea really can change everything. In this world, we don't need to just rely on governments and big businesses to find solutions to our social problems - we can find them ourselves. By voicing and videoing our experiences and ideas in 60 second 'heart-bites', sharing them through the power of social media, we can spark a movement of hope, a movement of tole-rants. Tole-rants raises the voices of those who have hope for the future, and of all global social change makers who work towards solutions to social problems every day... lets hear you tole-rant!
